The reclining airplane seat should NOT exist

2014-02-28 09:26
Cape Town - Reclining seats have a sort of yin-yang complex. This is because when you’re reclining your seat, comfort is the name of the game, but when the tables are turned, comfort can easily turn to sheer agony.

So, Richard A. Moran decided to write an open letter addressed to the airplane-seat-recliner-person that simply has no care in the world for the person behind them.

The letter starts off like this:

“I don’t know you but the back of your head is now four inches away from my face. I can smell your Head and Shoulders shampoo (it’s not working). This might all be a little too intimate for strangers.

When this aeroplane lands I have to give a PowerPoint presentation. I have not done it yet. I was planning to do it on this flight but because you are now almost in my lap, my laptop doesn’t open and I cannot work.

This is going to create problems for my career.

Would you mind scooting forward? Thanks so much”

We can’t think of a better way to air out his frustrations of recliner seats, than using beloved gifs, because, you know, gifs are great.

So here goes:

When you recline your seat you’re feeling like...

...while the person behind you is...

(Giphy) have no idea that your decision to recline your seat has resulted in this...

...and that you might have possibly made someone’s knees feel like this...

...but at the end of the day, you, Mr/Ms seat recliner, are having one hell of a good time...

...And until airplanes and buses continue offering reclining seats, this shall be the life...
