Get ready for goosebumps! Amazing close encounter of the herd kind

2014-06-06 11:29
Cape Town - The strange thing about elephants is that - despite being so large - they're actually surprisingly quiet and have the uncanny ability to disappear and reappear without too much fanfare. Unless, of course, they feel like it.

No wonder they're known as the phantoms of the forest.

Guests at Singita Serengeti House in Grumeti Reserve, Tanzania recently had a taste of these gentle giants' knack for making a haunting appearance out of nowhere.

Without any warning, a herd of elephants just rocked up on their lawn, started sampling water from the pool and enjoyed sweet mouthfuls of surrounding shrubs and trees.

The guests managed to capture the incredible close encounter on video.
