Scott Ramsay has spent the past five years exploring South Africa's wildlife parks and nature reserves as part of his Epic conservation project known as A Year in the Wild. From Namibia's sheltering desert, to the dramatic beauty of the Drakensberg all the way to the rugged Wild Coast - Scott enjoys a lifestyle many a desk-bound bush-lover would envy. His main aim? To use his stories and images to inspire people to get involved in conservation. And no, this does not necessarily mean you need to give it all up and spend a year in the wild. On the contrary, you just need to visit as tourism forms a large part of the fund of conservation in South Africa. We recently asked him to join us in studio to share some of his most profound experiences - here he tells us which of SA's 39 specially protected areas to head to when taking some time off. Watch the video here. According to Scott, you'll discover places where you see so many wild lions they "become a bit boring" and Scott advised not to overlook the little reserves as these have a unique charm unlike the bigger reserves such as Kruger National Park Have any of your own recommendations?
