Cape Town- Valentine’s day combined with the worlds newest Natural Wonder of the World? Can you just imagine how amazing that could be?

Well, now is the time to take advantage of that ideal condition and romance your Valentine atop Table Mountain.
From Monday 10 February to Sunday 16 February, Table Mountain Cableway is offering couples a special Valentine’s promotion to savour delicious food on top of one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, while feasting on magnificent views of the Mother City.

Romantic food:
-Table Mountain Café’s Valentine’s menu includes a main course and dessert, as well as a glass of De Grendel wine for R140 per person.

Thoughtful gift:
You can also spoil your Valentine by gifting a Cable Card, the Cableway’s frequent user card, so that he or she can enjoy the breath-taking views all year round and the added benefit of skipping the ticket office queue. There are also discounts on selected items at the Shop at the Top and Table Mountain Café for cardholders. If you are stuck for a suitable gift, the displays in The Shop at the Top will be geared for Valentine’s Day, with love-themed items for sale.

The Cable Card retails for R510 for an adult card, R255 for a child card, and R605 for an Adult-Child Combo. Cable Cards can be purchased online at or from the Cableway Visitor Centre at the Lower Station (office hours 8.30am – 4pm) from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.

Sunset special:
You can also take advantage of the Cableway’s half-price Sunset Special that is still running until 28 February 2014. Adults pay R107.50 and children just R52.50 per return ticket purchased from the ticket office from 6pm. The Cableway operates weather permitting. For information call (021) 424 8181 or visit

As a special Valentine’s treat the New7Wonders Foundation has launched the WonderLove competition, an international promotion offering couples a chance to win one of seven all-inclusive trips to their favourite New7Wonder of Nature, departing from anywhere on the planet. The competition is open to all at and the winners will be announced on 14 February 2014.
