South Africa will be treated to a team of super talented tourists next week, when Brazil’s football side arrives for their friendly against Bafana Bafana on 5 March at the FNB stadium. reports that the Brazilians will arrive on Monday, 3 March in three groups, with the first expected to land at 07:40 at OR Tambo International Airport. The second group is scheduled to touch down at 10:30 at Lanseria Airport, while the last group will arrive at OR Tambo at 10:05.

Tickets for the game are going for R50, R100 and R200.

While the Brazilians will surely have some time to enjoy a smattering of touristy delights in and around the city of gold, a good number of South Africans are no doubt preparing to enjoy the very same in Brazil later this year when they head over to the South American country for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The sporting event kicks off on 6 June and ends on 20 July.

So, just to get you in the mood so long, we’ve compiled a list of some of the important numbers you may want to know while there.

0 – the number of games Bafana Bafana will be playing. Yes, as you probably know, our national team didn’t make it into the World Cup. Quite a pity, especially considering their recent win against Spain.

12 – the number of venues that will host matches. The stadiums – all of them rather suave and impressive - are dotted right around the country, including popular tourist destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Manaus.

2.3 million – the number of tickets already allocated to fans.

43 – the percentage of international fans to whom tickets have been allocated.

160 000 – tickets remain and will be made available to the public in the next window of the second sales phase, which starts on a first-come-first-served basis on 12 March.

990 – dollars is what the most expensive tickets cost. These are obviously the Category 1 tickets for the final. This is roughly R10 637 at R10.74/dollar.

9 and ¾ - the flight time from Johannesburg to Sao Paolo.

600 000 – the number of visitors Brazil is expected to draw during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

25billion – the amount of Brazillian Real tourists are expected to spend during the World Cup. That’s roughly R114billion at R4.58/Real.

86billion – the amount of Real Brazil has invested in the world cup (well, that explains all those protests)

1 973 – extra domestic flights between June 6 and July 20 have been authorized by aviation authorities.

50 – the percentage Rio de Janeiro hotel prices are expected to go up during the event.

26 – degrees Celsius is the average temperature in Rio de Janeiro during June

750 000 -  liters of beer sold inside stadiums at the 2010 World Cup here in South Africa. Wonder what the Brazil tally will be...
