Forget space travel, here’s something even more unique

2014-06-30 12:01
We thought Richard Branson's pushing of galactic travel was far out. Well, that’s nothing compared to a group of people embarking on an underwater voyage for a month.

The voyage, according to Upworthy, is aptly named “Mission 31” which launches a crew of aquanauts to a habitat at the bottom of the ocean where they’re going to be living for 31 days.

The person leading the expedition is Jacques Cousteau grandson, Fabien Cousteau.

Jacques Cousteau is well known for his works in oceanography and research, and is responsible for over 120 television documentaries.

The aquanauts will be living in the world’s only underwater marine habitat and lab in the world.

The Mission strives to “expose the world to adventure, risk and mystique of what lies beneath, while highlighting the human-ocean connection within the lens of exploration and discovery.”

What’s even great about this mission is that they have a live stream, which means you can join the aquanauts on their underwater adventures.

We really admire these guys because, as we know it, only 29% of the earth is land, leaving the rest of the world to the ocean. Can you just imagine how many organisms are part of the ocean??

How’s this for a view?
This mission seems quite cool:
What with epic dance moves under the sea...
...Casual coffee sessions and chats underwater...

...Gorgeous humans forming part of the team. Ian Somerhalder, we love you...

...We love you so much...

...And who would want to miss the opportunity to make new friends.
