'Game of Thrones' star denied entry to BA business lounge, responds with Twitter rant

2014-07-21 14:01
Cape Town – British Airways received something of a Twitter lashing on Sunday when 17-year-old Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams was refused entry into the airline’s business class lounge.

Williams who plays the feisty Arya Stark in the popular fantasy series, tweeted her dissatisfaction with the airline’s stringent rules regarding under 18s making use of the suave facility.

She opened her Twitter tirade against BA with the following: “Denied from the business lounge once again for being under 18 and without an adult.. @British_Airways sort your sh*t out.”

According to Daily Mail, the airline's reasoning behind the age restriction is the fact that there is a self-service bar stocked with alcoholic beverages, which is not always monitored by a staff member.

The airline responded with an apology for leaving the young star ‘disappointed,’ but explained that, essentially, rules were rules and guests had to be 18 years or older.

Of course, this just fuelled the flames even more.

Williams responded in true Arya Stark fashion:

Realising how bratty her original complaint must have sounded, Williams quickly explained her stance, garnering a whole lot of support as she went:

What are your thoughts? Was Maisie Williams out of line with her complaint? Or should young working professionals between the ages of 16 and 18 be allowed into business lounges?
