Pub's awkward typo in sign goes viral

2014-04-10 10:13
Truro - All the owners of the Wig and Pen in Truro, Cornwall wanted to do, is let their customers know that the pub would be open, despite water works closing the streets in the area.

However, The Mirror, reports their plan went horribly wrong when their sign maker suffered something of a Freudian slip.

Instead of reading "The Wig and Pen is open for business," it rather raunchily announced: "The Wig and Penis open for business."

Unsurprisingly, the owners were forced to take the sign down shortly after it was, ahem, erected.

It has, however, been immortalised in the realm of social media, where it has spread like wild fire, even catching the attention of comedian, Ricky Gervais.
