Shocking! TSA agents pat down 2-year-old

Cape Town - At some point in your travelling life, you will probably be patted down by airport security. Yes, it sucks, but look on the bright side at least you’re not a terrified two-year old.

Huffington Post reports that a man posted footage of TSA agents patting down his 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter on YouTube, expressing his absolute outrage at the incident.

Watch the video here.

In the blurb of the video he explains that his wife and children were subjected to this treatment, as they had been ‘in close contact’ with him and he’d already been singled out for additional screening.

While the incident has caused widespread indignation, the TSA’s page on travelling with children states that they are required to "screen everyone, regardless of age, in order to ensure the security of all travelers," then promises that "[s]ecurity officers will approach children gently and treat them with respect."

The regulations were, however, changed in 2011 with the agency undertaking to rely less on pat-downs for children under 12, relying instead on metal detectors and trace detection swabs.
The video was already uploaded on 18 April, however it’s not clear exactly when or where the incident happened.
