Photo of the Day: Colorado River

2013-11-27 12:45

Colorado- According to National Geographic, the Colorado River is one of the most carefully controlled rivers on earth. The 2,333km long river runs from Rocky Mountain National Park in South West America, all the way to Mexico. In addition to being a good human resource, supplying 30 million people with water, it is also recognised as one of CNN’s 15 best rivers for travellers in the World.

The river is reported by National Geographic to be suffering growing challenges such as climate changes, drought and strain due to an increase in population. But this news is not at all daunting to travellers who have from all over the world, who recognise the river as a tourist attraction. Despite the ugly truth that the river is slowly drying up, there is still so much to see and do. It is the perfect destination for those of you who are keen rafting, kayaking, tubing and even cliff jumping enthusiasts.

Today’s photo of the day is by an explorer of the Colorado River, Instagram user, timgannis.
