Best and worst passports for travel

2013-10-04 13:16
Cape Town - Here in South Africa we love to complain about how little access the so-called Biltong Book allows us to the world, but compared to some countries we really don't have it that bad!

Global consulting firm Henley and Partners put together a list of the worst and best passports for international travel. The group analyzed visa regulations of all countries and territories in the world, ranking them based on how freely their citizens could travel with just a passport.

South Africa ranked 42nd with our ability to enter 94 countries without a visa.

Unsurprisingly, the top positions were held by three northern European countries - Finland, Sweden and the UK, while the Middle East and North Africa scraped the bottom of the barrel with Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia in the last three positions.

Here's a full list of the best and worst passports for travel:

10 worst:

Afghanistan - citizens can enter 28 countries on their passport alone

10 best:

Finland - citizens can enter 173 countries on their passport alone
