Onece freed from decades spent in apartheid jails, Mandela's star-pulling power was legendary.

Cape Town - Certain modes of public transport will be free into the city of Cape Town for a planned tribute  to the Father of our nation, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

An interfaith religious ceremony will be held on the Grand Parade on Friday in honour of Madiba.

Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille made the announcement at the Civic Centre earlier today, saying "The whole world is grieving. Today, everyone is a South's hard to say goodbye"

De Lille also announced that the Cape Town City Hall and Civic Centre have been activated as a public viewing area where residents can sign condolences book
