Cape Town - The City of Cape Town has announced that there will be free transport to Grand Parade for the live screening of the Nelson Mandela Tribute event being held at Cape Town Stadium - Nelson Mandela: A Life Celebrated.

For those attending the screening of the event on the Grand Parade, free public transport has been made available into and out of the city on the MyCiTi bus service, Golden Arrow Bus Services, and Metrorail. This transport will be available from 12:00 to 15:00 inbound and from 19:00 onwards outbound.

The stadium event will be screened on the Grand Parade from 16:00 when it starts.

Access to the event at Cape Town Stadium was made available via a coupons system - but all  the coupons had been collected by Tuesday morning.

The City says the response to Cape Town's ow tribute event has been heartening and thus decided to give those who weren’t able to get coupons  a chance to witness the homage to Madiba via the Grand Parade live screening.
The City once again appealed to coupon-holders to please give away any coupons that they are not using.
