Cape Town to get private cruise dock

Cape Town - Cruise liners will be able to dock at their own private quay in the Cape Town harbour by next year, Transnet National Port Authority (TNPA) have said. 

Die Burger reports that Transnet hopes to reach an agreement with ‘n passenger dock operator by October next year. 

According to Sipho Nzuza, port manager of TNPA, interested operators have been invited to submit their proposals for the management of a passenger dock. 

In the mean time berth E in Duncan dock has been adjusted slightly to accommodate cruise liners. 

The development of a passenger dock forms part of the TNPA's estimated R3bn plan to improve Cape Town harbour next year.
