Cape Town - Cape Town International Airport has been awarded the Best Airport in Africa and the Best Airport in Africa for Staff Service Excellence at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards held on Wednesday.Sister airport, King Shaka International Airport received the Best Regional Airport at the SKYTRAX awards. The award ceremony was held at the passenger expo ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday.The announcement comes weeks after both airports received similar awards from the Airports Council International. The Skytrax awards were launched in 1999 and since then, Cape Town International Airport has won Best Airport in Africa in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011 and now 2012.The airport has also scored a hat-trick in winning Best Airport for Staff Service Excellence in 2010, 2011 and now for 2012."It is pleasing to see that three ACSA International Airports rank within the top 30 airports in the world! In 2011 CTIA was rated the 27th best airport in the world and for 2012 it is ranked as the 22nd best airport in the world! King Shaka sits at 26th and O.R.
