Barcelona - If you’re a regular South African with an appetite for travel, you’re probably sick of the limitations posed by our good old green ‘biltong book.’

South African estate agency Pam Golding Properties is now marketing leisure and investment properties in Spain and Portugal.

Fin24 reports that the two governments, which were especially hard hit by the 2008 credit crunch, are specifically targeting Chinese and Russians who have been flocking to Europe for their holidays for more than a decade. 

The Schengen visa application process has become increasingly complicated for South Africans, as the European Union introduced the Visa Information System in June this year, which requires applicants to appear in person to enable the collection of biometric data. 

So, if you have the cash, maybe hand-picking a gorgeous hacienda on the Spanish or Portuguese coastline will be less of a mission to process...
