Photos: Orcas in False Bay

Take a look at these amazing photos of Orcas frolicking near Simon's Town, quite a rare sight in False Bay.

There are many great things about travel, but if you're an animal-lover, the possibility of meeting cute, cuddly, even creepy creatures from different continents and countries could quite possibly outweigh all the others. Because most animal encounters while travelling may be mediated to some degree - safaris, zoos, controlled petting - the really close ones that happen naturally, and only once in a blue moon, seem to tickle our human fancy and trigger that longing we all have for a simpler time.

Discovery animal news reports that travel blogger Joel Oleson recently had one of these magical moments as he seemed to catch the fancy of a baby penguin in Antarctica during a SharePoint trip. Lucky for us, he had his video camera close by and recorded the encounter.

Oleson and his family have quite the penchant for adventure and have travelled to places as far-flung as Macchu Picchu, the Nile and Guatamala.

Despite documenting all these incredible destinations, the penguin video has become his real internet claim to fame.
