Mixed reactions on social media to Jackie Selebi's death

Former police commissioner Jackie Selebi has died at 64. South Africans took to social networks with mixed reactions to Selebi's death. Watch video above.


Born on March 7, 1950 Selebi served as ANCYL president in 1987 while exiled in Zambia.

He was appointed police commissioner from 2000 until his suspension in 2008.

In 2010 Selebi was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison for taking bribes from drug dealer Glen Agliotti.

He was released on medical parole in 2012 after he was diagnosed with kidney failure, hypertension and diabetes.
