WATCH: First scientist into the chamber tells us about accessing Homo naledi fossils

An all-women team of six "underground" astronauts came together to access the Dinaledi cave in the Cradle of Humankind, Johannesburg, where Homo naledi was found. 

We speak to Marina Elliot who holds a PhD and is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Evolutionary Studies Institute at Wits University.

She explains traversing the caves narrow openings. WATCH.
