We find out what it was like to photograph the likes of F.W. de Klerk and Nadine Gordimer

Renowned photographer, Adrian Steirn, joins Jennifer Sanasie in studio to discuss the success of his auction and gala dinner event for his 21 Icons projects.

21 Icons is a photo-documentary project by Australian-born photographer Adrian Steirn. The project showcases extraordinary people who used their craft to bring positive change to society. This year's celebratory figures include Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Nelson Mandela, Johnny Clegg, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Advocate George Bizos and artist William Kentridge. 

The project reached an estimated 180 million people according to Steirn. In this video, he explains how he managed to bring the icons together,  who the most exciting person to photograph was and who the most difficult person was to photograph. Watch.
