A whole latte love for SA's first-ever deaf barista champion

26-year-old Mduduzi Lukhuleni from Johannesburg dreamed of becoming an IT specialist until he found himself in the world of baristas. 

Lukhuleni was named the first-ever deaf barista champion after entering the Coffee and Chocolate Show in July. 

The 26-year-old who is passionate about coffee, aspires to someday train other deaf baristas.

"I would really love that because I am very passionate about how to supervise and train people. Especially deaf people", he said to News24.

Lukhuleni hails from Mpumalanga in a family where all three of his older siblings as well as his father are deaf.
