CT has levelled water demand in spite of population growth - councillor

Dams that supply Cape Town with water are now down to 11% capacity (of usable water), while City Council may approve Level 4 water restrictions, due to the ongoing drought and unusually warm and dry autumn in the Western Cape.

It's not all doom and gloom though, says Mayco member for utilities, Xanthea Limberg, who gives us the glass-half-full version of Cape Town's current water crisis.

Limberg also pours cold water on reports that Cape Town's rapid population growth has been a primary cause for the water shortage. Watch.
