EFF student command pursue charges against UJ senior officials

01 August, 05:01 PM

The EFF student command at the University of Johannesburg, Auckland Park campus, marched to Brixton Police station on Tuesday afternoon to lay money laundering and fraud charges against deputy Vice-chancellor for Finance Jaco van Shoor, and Chairperson of Council, Professor Roy Marcus.

The two senior members of the university have allegedly defrauded the university of R23 million rand.

The Sunday Independent reports that a whistleblower reported the matter to university management.

It is believed the pair channelled money over a period of three years.

Zwelakhe Mahlambu, the Chairperson of the student command, said they will pursue the Public Protector's office if the law does not take its course.
