23 May, 10:56 AM

African National Congress (ANC) parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters must judge the party's Members of Parliament based on their conduct.

Mothapo spoke to News24 following the violent clashes in Parliament during President Jacob Zuma's question and answer session on Tuesday, 17 May.

EFF members who rushed out of the public gallery broke a window at an entrance to Parliament. A fire extinguisher was also discharged in clashes with security.

Mothapo says the security contingent in Parliament acted in "respectful" and "professional" matter while the EFF members were violent

Members of the EFF caucus threw water bottles and a hard hat as they were removed from the chamber, after Speaker Baleka Mbete called the sergeant-at-arms.
