Here's what remains of scorched Vuwani school

06 May, 06:39 PM

Gutted buildings, collapsed roofing, charred classroom floors and burnt books are all that remain of a school in Vuwani, Limpopo. It is one of 19 schools razed to the ground this week.

The centres of learning now covered in ash were targeted in what is suspected to be politically-motivated arson attacks.

Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga visited the area on Friday, 6 May and said what she saw was "really shattering".

Motshekga noted the schools hit by the run of fire attacks had lost valuable school documents.

"You can rebuild classes, you can rebuild other things, but you cannot recreate those records," she said.
