Maimane smirks as Zuma defends SAA's Myeni

13 September, 06:29 PM

DA leader Mmusi Maimane and EFF Commander in Chief Julius Malema both put questions about SAA chair Dudu Myeni to President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday, 13 September.

Zuma was in the National Assembly to first provide oral answers to written enquiries about subjects such as South Africa's economic rating and trade with Japan.

He later participated in a debate on the national carrier, in which Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan detailed SAA's poor performance.

The President smiled and laughed following an enquiry on his confidence in Myeni, posed by Maimane during the QnA.

Opposition leader Maimane took his cue from Zuma's answer on state-owned enterprises of which the national carrier is one.

During a later debate specifically about SAA the EFF's Malema described Myeni's "special relationship" with Zuma. She is, for instance, a member of the Jacob Zuma Foundation board.
