Mthethwa bashes 'Mickey Mouse political parties'

27 April, 10:35 PM

Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa bashed at opposition parties at a Freedom Day gathering on Wednesday.

Mthethwa told "Mickey Mouse political parties" they should know "there is only one governing party in South Africa, it's [the] African National Congress."

He suggested there was only one party which counted in current South African politics.

"There is no co-governance in South Africa," the former Minister of Police told thousands of ANC supporters.

Watch above.

Significantly, Mthethwa's remarks occurred on the anniversary of the first multi-racial democratic elections in South Africa, on 27 April.

It was the first time South Africans elected parties in a representative democracy.
