NEHAWU union members protest over wage dispute

10 May, 05:43 PM

National Health Education & Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) organised a protest on Wednesday following a deadlock in negotiations with Rhodes University Management, over a 7.5% wage increase stated in a memorandum of demands handed over in April.

Protesting workers rejected an initial offer of a 5% wage increase for 2017.

Included in the list of demands is a housing allowance increase from R1000 to R1500 per month. Watch for more.
