The country has imposed a nationwide lockdown. After China, it is the hardest-hit country in the world, with 2 500 deaths from more than 31 000 Covid-19 cases.

On home soil, 116 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. On Wednesday, the government introduced strict new measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
