The ANC is once again in the spotlight, this time after the "festival of chairs" at the Eastern Cape's elective conference. Is this a trailer of future conferences?

"When I saw chairs flying - a festival of chairs... I immediately said there must be people injured and I wanted to go to hospital," Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Sunday at the conclusion of the fractious and violent conference in East London.

We speak to SACP general secretary Blade Nzimande on the concerns raised by some that the ANC's December elective conference might not take place.

"We hope the ANC will be able to ask itself 'how does it rescue itself from this slippery slope?'", Nzimande said. LISTEN.

And finally, News24 editor-in-chief Adriaan Basson discusses what growing tensions in the ANC could mean, as it searches for a replacement for President Jacob Zuma.
