Bikers Against Bullies South Africa embarked on a mass ride on Wednesday in support of the Parktown Boys' High School sexual assault victims and their families.

The bikers rode to the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court where former water polo assistant coach Collan Rex appeared for sentencing for over 100 counts of sexual assault.

The group of bikers stood firmly in a passageway leading to the courtroom waiting on Rex to appear.

Flanked by his family and dressed in a neat suit and tinted sunglasses, the 22-year-old had to use an alternative entrance to get to the courtroom.

Bikers clad in black leather jackets and concerned parents filled the gallery as Rex took the stand.

However, they were quickly disappointed after the case was postponed to November 27, because probation officers assigned to the case had not prepared their reports.

A parent of one of the boys said his child is writing the matric exams and was still receiving psychiatric care.

"My [child] is leaving the school ... but there are a lot of kids who are still at that school and we need to protect them", he told News24.

Rex was found guilty of 144 counts of sexual assault and 12 counts of common assault. He had pleaded guilty to the charges, which involved 12 schoolboys aged between 13 and 16.
