Police are investigating a case of carjacking after two women were hijacked in Mitchells Plain on Friday.

According to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk, the driver of the vehicle went to a petrol station in Westridge to withdraw money but returned to the white Ford Fiesta when she saw two men who appeared suspicious.

"The suspects then grabbed her and pushed her away before driving off with her vehicle. No weapon was produced. No shots were fired."

He added that the keys were in the ignition at the time of the incident. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Anyone who can help with information which can assist the police can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
