WATCH | Debate on Ramaphosa's SONA resumes in Parliament

19 February, 02:44 PM

Members of Parliament are continuing to debate President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address on Wednesday afternoon.

The first day of the SONA debate was overshadowed by claims of gender-based violence levelled at two prominent leaders: the president and the leader of the third biggest party in the country, Julius Malema.

The events culminated in Malema being asked to leave the House.

The rest of the day was the typical affair of disappointment from opposition benches, with a tinge of advice on how best to run the country, while ANC MPs clapped and applauded their own speakers who commended last week's speech.

Ramaphosa was set to respond on Thursday.
