WATCH | In-camera testimony from Mr X continues at Zondo commission

18 February, 10:03 AM

The Zondo commission into allegations of state capture is expected to continue to hear in-camera testimony from a witness identified as Mr X on Tuesday.

On Monday, Mr X told the commission that his evidence would destroy his relationship with former SAA head Dudu Myeni because "it will not favour her".

"It was not easy for me to give evidence today. What is happening [is that] I do not feel that my family and [I] are safe because the truth that I am going to reveal today is not acceptable to the people who are implicated," Mr X said.

Myeni's son - Thalente Myeni - also appeared before the commission on Monday. However, he could not recall the details of his role in a Mpumalanga development project from which his company received a R2m payment in June 2015.

"I can't recall" was his response to most questions about various aspects of the project.

The project was aimed at building housing for workers, nurses and teachers, among others.
