WATCH LIVE: Johan Booysen testifies for 2nd day at state capture inquiry

18 April, 10:18 AM

The judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture will continue on Thursday with the testimony of former KwaZulu-Natal Hawks boss Johan Booysen.

Booysen told the commission on Wednesday that former KwaZulu-Natal commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni had instructed him to shut down a sensitive investigation. At the time, Booysen had launched an investigation into controversial KZN businessman Thoshan Panday after noticing "strange" procurement processes in Panday's books.

Booysen also said that the son of former president Jacob Zuma, Edward, had attempted to get him (Booysen) to unfreeze R15m seized from Panday.
