WATCH LIVE: State capture to resume with Transnet-related testimony

28 May, 11:04 AM

The judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture is expected to hear testimony on Tuesday from Tshiamo Sedumedi on behalf of MNS attorneys, a law firm that has investigated various Transnet deals.

The evidence comes after the commission, chaired by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, heard on Monday that Gupta-linked advisory firm Homix earned R36m for doing virtually no work in facilitating a deal between Neotel and Transnet.

Former Transnet employee Gerhard van der Westhuizen, who was involved in negotiating the contract with Neotel, said that he could not understand the value Homix could bring in finalising the deal.
