09 March, 04:07 PM

Scores of Tshwane University of Technology students, Uber and Taxify drivers took to the streets of the capital, calling for justice for murdered driver Siyabonga Ngcobo. Watch.

The march proceeded from the Arcadia campus to Sunnyside, east of Pretoria, where Ngcobo's charred remains were found last week.

The 21-year-old had been working for e-hailing service Taxify for a little over a week before he was killed.

An Uber driver, who asked to speak on condition of anonymity, said the heads to work each day concerned about his safety.

"The violence is escalating. It started as intimidation and an exchange of words but now we face brutal attacks," he said.

He added that he has opened a case of intimidation with the police but nothing has come of it yet.
