WATCH: Fury outside court as coffin assault suspects appear

16 November, 11:00 AM

Two men arrested in connection with the kidnapping and assault of Victor Rethabile Mlotshwa will remain in custody until next year.

They face charges including kidnapping, assault and intent to do grievous bodily harm.

One of the accused may have filmed the other shoving Mlotshwa's left arm into a coffin before forcing the lid over Mlotshwa's face (see here).

"We want to get the petrol," said the man filming the incident.

It reportedly occurred on JM de Beer Boerdery near the Komati Power Station in Mpumalanga.

Nickolaus Bauer for eNCA reported the two accused - Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins Jackson - worked on the farm and did not own it.

Both accused will remain in custody until the next court day on 25 January 2017.
