WATCH: 'Sies Sasol!' - workers march against affirmative action scheme

25 October, 07:30 PM

Members of trade union Solidarity marched to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on Thursday to protest against Sasol's affirmative action scheme, Khanyisa.

Khanyisa, in part, is a share scheme that aims to see at least 25% direct and indirect B-BEE ownership in Sasol South Africa.

The protestors, who handed over a memorandum, accused Sasol of racial exclusion and racism.

During their demonstration, they chanted "Sies Sasol!" and they carried placards that read "Affirmative action is racist" and "Sasol, where your worth is based on your race".
