The first black woman from Africa to summit Mount Everest received a hero’s welcome when she returned to South Africa on Monday.

Saray Khumalo, a business executive, made history when she reached the summit in the early hours of Thursday, May 16.

An excited crowd gathered at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to welcome Khumalo home. Watch.
