10 000 in Saint Petersburg vote protest

Saint Petersburg - Around 10 000 protesters in Russia's second city of Saint Peterburg joined a nationwide demonstration against dispute elections won by Vladimir Putin's ruling party, the police said.

The permitted event was staged on Pionerskaya Ploshad square in the heart of the city which is home to both Putin and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, a police official told AFP.
