Sana'a - Yemeni security officials and anti-rebel fighters say a bomb inside a booby-trapped car at a key military base has killed 15 anti-rebel fighters and wounded more than 20.

The officials said on Saturday the bomb was left by Shi'ite Houthi rebels before they were driven out of the Labouza military base.

The explosion happened late on Friday, on the same day the pro-government forces retook Labouza, the last military base in the country's south that was held by the Houthis.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to journalists.
