Brahimi mission meets Syria opposition

2012-10-07 15:33

Damascus - Mokhtar Lamani, the head of UN-Arab League peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi's office in Syria, met members of the armed opposition on Saturday, a UN official told AFP.

Lamani visited the Lajat area some 50km south of Damascus and "met leaders of the armed opposition", spokesperson Khaled al-Masri said.

The meeting came "as part of Lakhdar Brahimi's mission to make contact with and discuss with all Syrian parties to hear their points of view regarding the Syria crisis," he added.

Masri said Lamani visited Lajat after a trip to Daraa in the south, cradle of the anti-regime uprising that broke out in March of last year.

On 30 September, Lamani met a rebel Free Syrian Army commander in the town of Talbisseh in Homs province.

He held talks with Colonel Kassem Saadeddine and other members of the FSA, which is made up of army deserters and civilians who have taken up arms against President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Lamani also met the governor of Homs province, Ahmad Munir Mohammad, and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Syrian Red Crescent.

Tom guy, 00198576563846458943645845636937 and Shame; Ok, I will go very very slowly : There is NO dispute, that there are some foreign armed troops in Syria,. there are thousands of Russians and Iranians troops , "advisers" and "experts" ( in murdering unarmed civilians!!!!!!) There are also some armed liberation fighters from certain ME countries, they have openly admitted this. But the violent loony left, want to shove a different story down the throats of anyone having different points of view!!!! You want to make out that it are these few foreign troops who make up the opposition to this assad terrorist. The truth is that the by far majority of Syrians, want this assad monster out !! It is mainly the 60 000 strong FSA, who is fighting these assad terrorists, with the support of the Syrian population !!!!! You might find some newspaper articles re some armed liberation soldiers, but NOBODY of the following people, countries and organizations have mentioned this; Lakhdar Brahimi UN SC Kofi Annan Ban Ki-moon UN Gen Mood Russia China Amnesty International Red Cross Eye witnesses on the ground Etc, Etc, Etc SLLLLLLOW ENOUGH ??????????????????
