Briton jailed after 'tumble drying' cat

2012-11-14 09:02

London - A British man was jailed on Tuesday after putting a cat in a tumble dryer, filming it and posting the footage on YouTube, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said.

Alan Staughton, aged 23, of Huntingdon, eastern England, put Princess inside the drier and told the animal it was going for "a tumble" before letting it spin for 12 seconds.

The cat suffered a broken tooth and a tongue injury in the incident in June.

Staughton was jailed for 56 days by local magistrates and banned from keeping animals for life.

The guilty man, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and a conduct disorder, admitted causing unnecessary suffering to the animal, which belonged to his then-partner, at an earlier hearing.

The incident caused the break-down of the relationship and the cat has been found a new home.

Put him in a washing machine on "Tumble" and see how he likes it!!! Unfortunately wouldn't be possible, but nice thought.....I really am sick of all the cruelty suffered by animals at the hands of humans who apparently are the superior beings. Not with that kind of attitude they're not.....if that's how they treat animals, I hate to think how they treat other human beings :(

@delish7564 It is possible, 1000 ways to die, believe it or not, there are yearly fatalities of people that get caught in massive dryers or washers while doing maintenance inside them, and I'm talking about industrial machines of course, huge dryers and washers used in Hotels. so yea it is possible for us to pop him in for a wash first then a very very hot tumble.

put him in a dryer! teach him a lesson.. 56 days in prison is not enough. spca should lock him up in a kennel and feed him dog food for 56days.
