Paris - Police say a car ran into a
policewoman guarding the French presidential palace, slightly injuring her, as
the country is on high alert after the worst terrorist attacks in decades.
The Paris prosecutor's office says the
incident at the Elysee Palace early on Thursday had no link to last week's
attacks, which left 20 dead.
A police official says the driver took a
one-way street in the wrong direction then drove off when the guard tried to
stop them. The officer had slight leg injuries, the official said.
The official said two people were later
were arrested, and two others in the car fled.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity
because he was not authorised to be publicly identified.
