France to back Palestinian UN status

2012-11-27 21:07

Paris - France said on Tuesday it would vote in favour of Palestinian non-member status at the United Nations.

"This Thursday or Friday, when the question is asked, France will vote yes," Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced in the lower house of parliament.

All the countries of the world back this bid bar Israel and the United States of course, which will use foreign aid to threaten smaller countries dependent on this corruption for survival, coupled with pulling funding from other UN institutions. The Reverend Frank Chikane calls this, "The terrorism of the powerful against the weaker states! The highest form of corruption, buying states or countries by promising them one form of assistance or another, buying leaders directly to ensure that they are complaint."

Oh please Frank knows less than me about this. It is simple Arab and Jew will never make peace. t

Too little too late. There's only 6220m2 of Palestinian territory left and it's shrinking every year. By the time they get independence, there'll be nothing left.

  • neil.zive - 2012-11-27 22:06

Firstly the Palestinians already have a state in 85% of Palestine. It is called Jordan. The second Palestinian state the world thinks they want is the state of Israel. They exist as refugees only to delegitimize Israel. If they trully wanted another state they could have had one three times already. Wake up people it is all a smokescreen thy only want to destroy Israel.

      kaapse.skollie.7 - 2012-11-27 22:18

'They exist as refugees...' in their own homeland? Helen Zille, is that you?

      neilgordo - 2012-11-28 08:32

Correct Neil- they only became "refugees" because the fled the area before the 1948 war of independence when they mistakenly thought their Arab allies would crush Israel..only to be smashed and then crying foul because they then wanted to return! It's interesting that these Trans-Jordanians didn't seek an independent state when Egypt occupied gaza and Jordan occupied the West Bank between 1948-1967... Alas, Palestinians are always going to be pawns to further anti-Israel ambitions!

I am not surprised, but perturbed by the manner in which the UN is portraying itself as a "LEAGUE OF NATIONS". And yet WHO together with WTO disguise themselves as helping the poor. Can somebody please pull the plug on these imperialist?

  • neil.zive - 2012-11-27 22:53

The UN classified any Arab living in Palestine as a Palestinian if they had lived in the area for 2 years or more. Most of them were migrant workers from other Arab areas. I hate it when people think they know everything because they watch a few news broadcasts. Go do a little research and learn the truth about the conflict before you attack me.

      neil.zive - 2012-11-27 22:58

Did you know that over 900 000 Arab Jews were chased out of Arab countries from the early 20th century until 1967. They left all their land and wealth in those countries and were absorbed into Israel. No one talks about these people and you don't see them complaining.

      kaapse.skollie.7 - 2012-11-28 00:09

What about jews who immigrated from europe and russia? Should those johnny-come-latelys also be sent back 'home'? And by extension, should all white SA people go back to europe?

      Slowrider - 2012-11-28 08:36

Neil, are you telling us that the Israeli's left their wealth in other countries, and are nou scraping a living, living in fear and squalor in Isreal? Poor me Isrealites... I have yet to meet a poor "Person of Isreali descent".

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-28 08:56

The 500000-700000 Jews expelled from Arab countries was a reciprocation for +- 700000 Israeli Arabs chased by menechan begin and his Irgun and Stem gangs from Israel. (The Nakba) It's not as if Arabs woke up one day and decided to expel Jews from their countries, even though Zionist propagandists like you have tried to rewrite history by suggesting that the exiling of Arab Israelis was at the insistence of Arab armies who were about to attack Israel. Arabs had lived with Jews in Arab lands for over a millennium and had no hatred towards their Semitic brethren! You revisionist history fools no one!

      almeleh - 2012-11-28 11:17

For Slowrider. two thirds of Israelis live on or below the poverty line. Your anti semitic perception is FALSE. Get a life.

      neilgordo - 2012-11-28 12:06

@slowrider: "Neil, are you telling us that the Israeli's left their wealth in other countries, and are nou scraping a living, living in fear and squalor in Isreal? Poor me Isrealites... I have yet to meet a poor "Person of Isreali descent"" That's a stereotypical antisemitic remark! your true colours and agenda is pretty evident. shameful!

Just another nail in the coffin of the zionist dream. It is slowly withering away, all with the help of Nutcakeyahoo and his lunatic coalition - Israel's own worst enemy and a blessing in disguise for the Palestinians. The racism of zionism has come out of the closet for all the world to see. Now with clear cracks in its support from the west, it has only one reliable ally, and that is the US. But beware, even this is shaky (anyone notice what happened at the Democratic convention when they sought to amend the platform in favour of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel?). So I am all for Nutcakeyahoo and Fruitcake Lieberman for the upcoming elections. So News24 readers, lets see some thumbs down if you disagree with my favourites.

      joshua.mcallister.75 - 2012-11-27 23:08

Zoinism is racism? Rich coming from you, racist. Your comment definately deserves many, many thumbs down.

      jeremy.bard.31 - 2012-11-27 23:49

Ag shame Josh old chap. Taking Israel's isolation and zionism's slow death pretty badly huh? I know, it's a bitter pill to swallow. A number of racist South Africans went through the same phase. But no worries, you will soon learn to live without a brutally racist apartheid state, just as most South Africans have. Now remember, thumbs down if you don't want my choice of Nutcake and Fruitcake at the helm of Israel's Knesset.

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-28 07:50

Israel like apartheid South Africa will be shown to be the polecats of the world that they are. Soon justice will be served and Israel will have to return all stolen land and remove the siege on Gaza or they will be left economically and socially isolated by the world. Times have changed, there are people who realise what has been going on for so many years and are standing up for justice. The calculus is simple. Israel must make peace with the Palestinians or face disintegration. Israeli government policies towards the Palestinians are not sustainable. "There's not much question in my mind that they maintain that (military) edge. But the question you have to ask is, was it enough to maintain a military edge, if you're isolating yourself in the diplomatic arena? At this dramatic time in the Middle East, when there have been so many changes, it's not a good situation for Israel to become increasingly isolated. And that is what's happening," -Leon Panetta

  • neil.zive - 2012-11-27 23:06

This conflict has never been about land. If that were the case it would have been resolved many years ago. It has always been about destroying the Jewish State of Israel. But for all of you who hate our Zionist homeland we will thrive in spite of your hate an efforts to destroy us.

      kaapse.skollie.7 - 2012-11-28 00:17

So the palestinians are NOT interested in having their own land and independence... Only destroying israel? Haven't heard that theory before.

      Slowrider - 2012-11-28 08:40

The Nation Chosen by God, and preferred by America, lol. Funny how most religions are against pride, murder, slavery, theft, war, but when it fits Israel, anything goes.

      neilgordo - 2012-11-28 15:48

tell me @slowrider... when arafat was offered 97% of everything he wanted in 2000 he said no! didn't even offer an alternative...just said no and walked away. Oslo Peace Accord 1993 - Israel honoured its obligation towards the process.. The P.A? Nothing!! They just escalated suicide attacks and taught their people to hate. So yes, P.A and hamas DON'T care about a 2-state solution, they want the destruction of Israel... Hopefully not all palestinians share this sentiment

  • neil.zive - 2012-11-28 00:31

That's because you are an ignorant fool who knows absolutely nothing about this conflict. Go educate yourself an then come and have an intelligent discussion based on facts and not your propoganda

      kaapse.skollie.7 - 2012-11-28 03:42

You Zionists have a temper on you. Lol.

      Slowrider - 2012-11-28 08:42

Everything is a sin except pride, don't you agree, Neil?
