Israel to expand Gaza offensive

2012-11-18 13:55

Jerusalem - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday Israel was prepared to widen its Gaza offensive significantly.

"We are exacting a heavy price from Hamas and the terrorist organisations and the Israel Defence Forces are prepared for a significant expansion of the operation," he told his cabinet, in broadcast remarks.

He gave no specifics and made no mention of the possibility of a ground offensive.

And they should do so with all haste. Until those chops learn to stop shooting rockets at Israel. And to listen when Israel says they want to talk peace. No use crying when the dog bites, after poking at it with a stick......

CHoP, when did 'israel' talk peace???

Dear Israel, most of the Christain, Hindu, buddhist, no believers, women, and gays are with you for you stand for freedom and democracey while the islamics stand for oppression, war and spreading by the sword. Be strong Israel - the world is behind you.

im going to evict you from ur home, take your belongings and kill your family members and then very innocently ill say " I want to talk peace" Im sure you will most willingly oblige according to your comment. Fool!! U dont know any history and u want to comment on "PEACE" Israel is a bastard state, that means for your small brain ILLEGITIMATE. It is built on stolen land taken from innocent Palestininans who are fighting for their own land. JUST LIKE I EXPECT YOU WILL FIGHT TO PROTECT YOUR HOUSE.

      moses.mabhida.52 - 2012-11-18 15:40

The only apartheid is the one in Gaza where Christians are treated like second grade citizens and where Jews are not allowed to live. Israel has a 15% Muslim population? the ONLY Christian population that is increasing in the middle east is in Israel as the rest of the racists Muslims in the middle east kick out and or kill Christians.

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-18 16:22

They chose not to live there. Have you ever wondered why? Cause the practise of islam and sharia law complies with your original bible and torah. Not the one that was changed by mankind to see to his own humanly desires. Under muslim law: stealing is prohinited, drinking and being intoxicacted by drugs is prohibited, having sex before marriage and having affairs left right and centre is prohibited and you get punished accordingly under islamic law! Which is how jesus (Prophet ESA - in islam) came to teach his people. These zionists responsible for these killings of innocent people will burn in hell!!! And islam will keep on being the fastest spreading religion due to its authenticity and original teachings which people are finally seeing is the true word of god. Did you know in america (the most hated place of islam in the world) it is still the fastest spreading religion?... God is the greatest and God guides to whom he wills.

      Desilusionada - 2012-11-18 18:57

@abubakr.moerat You say: "These zionists responsible for these killings of innocent people will burn in hell!!! " Please tell us how you know this. Your religion and laws do not prohibit killing of innocent people. Or is there a "special" law that makes the innocent women and children killed somehow not innocent? Or am I under the wrong impression that there are no suicide bombers in Iraq and no war in Syria? Says much for a religion of peace neh?.........

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-19 00:38

Fight in the way of God those who fight against you, but do not transgress. God does not love the transgressor. Quran 2:190\r\n\r\n\Those who fight against you\ means actual fighters - civilians are protected. The Prophet and his successors, when they sent out an army, gave clear instructions not to attack civilians - women, old people, religious people engaged in their worship - nor destroy crops or animals.\r\n\r\nDiscrimination and proportionality should be strictly observed. Only the combatants are to be fought, and no more harm should be caused to them than they have caused (Quran 2:194). Thus wars and weapons of destruction that destroy civilians and their towns are ruled out by the Qur'an and the word and deed of the Prophet, these being the only binding authority in Islamic law. The prohibition is regularly reinforced by, \Do not transgress, God does not love the transgressor\. Transgression has been interpreted by Qur'anic exegetes as meaning, \initiation of fighting, fighting those with whom a treaty has been concluded, surprising the enemy without first inviting them to make peace, destroying crops or killing those who should be protected\ \r\n\r\nWhoever goes against these is considered to be sinners and not the proper way to make war. Oh Islam is not a religion of peace..

Right next door to Israel, Syrians are being massacred by their own brethren, yet no response from the Muslims on News24. As soon as the Jewish state is mentioned they come out of the closet in full force, never ceases to amaze me. The Middle East with Jerusalem being the focal point for 3 major religions, will never experience peace until the Messiah returns, might as well get used to that.

  • mark.russell.7370013 - 2012-11-18 16:00

If Hamas stop fighting there will be peace. If Israel stop fighting there will be no Israel. Muslims in Israel enjoy all the rights and freedoms of any Israeli, the sam can not be said for Jews or most other non-Muslims in Muslim countries. Israel does not aim at taking more ground, just defending what is already theirs. They are not an apartheid state. They are merely defending the right to exist.

      alan.george.5815 - 2012-11-18 16:46

i dont think u know wat u talking about. so u say that if i barge into ur home and decide to take more than half of it then im entitled to do that. PLEASE BE REASONABLE, USE UR BRAINS. Then according to you it means that killing children and civilians is acceptable, therefore if i hav to come and kill ur child then u must not retaliate. Wat was the Palestinians is theirs no one can come and take it from them like how u wouldnt like anyone coming and taking away your house and wat belongs to you. last of all hav u been to Israel? i dont think so because muslims do not enjoy the same rights as JEWS i hav seen it with my own eyes. Please do not comment on something that u hav no knowledge of.

LET US PRAY Please Lord. In this hour of need as the zionist soldiers of the last apartheid state gets ready to launch a ground assault unto the oppressed people of Palestine,we ask thee to help the oppressed. We ask thee to set fire to their Merkavaa tanks, penetrate their armour, drop their fighter jets from the sky like flies. Set fire to the ground under the feet of the apartheid soldiers. Please Lord our God. These are the children of the murderers of Jesus who is continuing their murderous legacy. And dear Lord, strike at their leader, this monster netanyahu who thinks that he will live forever. In thee we trust forever and ever Amen!

      Desilusionada - 2012-11-18 19:11

SICK. As for being concerned about the murders of Jesus. It was a Roman who sentenced him. It was a Roman who nailed him to the cross, a Roman who put a spear in his side. Where were you when Black on Black violence in the early '90s were perpetuated in South Africa? What did you scream at the TRC when someone said he was carring out orders? Are you also not voting for the ANC because of camp Quattro atrocities? Same analogy, IF you can think that far....

      Desilusionada - 2012-11-18 22:21

So it was the Jews who nailed Him to the cross? And the Jews who stuck the spear into him? How can you be a Christian as you blame the same people who are your main characters in the saga you believe in for killing one of their own? But the example of Jesus and the prostitute is invalid? He forgave her, but you cannot forgive someone for by proxy condemning a person? When by your own belief it was ordained by the same person (and/or his father), who was killed? PS. I do shower each day and I do not lie, neither am I a Jew......

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-19 00:54

All the battles that took place during the Prophet's lifetime, under the guidance of the Qur'an and the Prophet, have been surveyed and shown to have been waged only in self-defense or to pre-empt an imminent attack.4 For more than ten years in Mecca, Muslims were persecuted, but before permission was given to fight they were instructed to restrain themselves (Quran 4:77) and endure with patience and fortitude:\r\n\r\nPardon and forgive until God gives his command. Quran 2:109; see also 29:59; 16:42\r\n\r\nAfter the Muslims were forced out of their homes and their town, and those who remained behind were subjected to even more abuse, God gave His permission to fight:\r\n\r\nPermission is given to those who fight because they have been wronged, and God is indeed able to give them victory; those who have been driven from their homes unjustly only because they said, \Our Lord is God\-for had it not been for God's repelling some men by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, in which the name of God is much mentioned, would certainly have been destroyed. Verily God helps those that help Him - lo! God is Strong, Almighty - those who, if they are given power in the land, establish worship and pay the poor-due and enjoin what is good and forbid iniquity. Quran 22:39-41

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-19 01:07

\I and the Father are one.\ 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, \I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?\ 33The Jews answered Him, \For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God,\ (John 10:30-33)

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-19 01:14

The Gospel of Barnabas claims that Jesus predicted the advent of Muhammad, thus conforming with the Qur'an which mentions:\r\n\r\nAnd remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: O Children of Israel! I am the apostle of God (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad. But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, this is evident sorcery!\r\n—Sura 61:6 [1]\r\n(Ahmad is another name of Muhammad.) A Muslim scholarly tradition links this Qur'anic passage to the New Testament references to the Paraclete (John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7). The Greek word \paraclete\ can be translated as \Counsellor\, and refers to the Holy Spirit, which is mentioned also by name explicitly. Some Muslim scholars, have noted the similarity to the Greek \peryklytos\ which can be translated as \admirable one\; or in Arabic, \Ahmad\.[51]\r\n\r\nThe name of \Muhammad\ is frequently mentioned verbatim in the Gospel of Barnabas, as in the following quote:\r\n\r\nJesus answered: \The name of the Messiah is admirable, for God himself gave him the name when he had created his soul, and placed it in a celestial splendour. God said: 'Wait Mohammed; for thy sake I will to create paradise, the world, and a great multitude of creatures, whereof I make thee a present, insomuch that whoso bless thee shall be blessed, and whoso shall curse thee shall be accursed. When I shall send thee into the world I shall send thee as my messenger of salvation, and thy word shall be true, insomuch that heaven and earth shall fail, but thy faith shall never fail.' Mohammed is his blessed name.\ Then the crowd lifted up their voices, saying: \O God, send us thy messenger: O Admirable One, come quickly for the salvation of the world!\\r\n—Barnabas 97:9-10

      abubakr.moerat - 2012-11-19 01:22

By the way if you were wondering what the gospel of barnabas was (I'm guessing its hidden from christians by the pope and the superpowers)\r\nThe Gospel of Barnabas is a book depicting the life of Jesus, and claiming to be by Jesus' disciple Barnabas, who in this work is one of the twelve apostles. Two manuscripts are known to have existed, both dated to the late 16th century and written respectively in Italian and in Spanish—although the Spanish manuscript is now lost, its text surviving only in a partial 18th-century transcript. Barnabas is about the same length as the four Canonical gospels put together, with the bulk being devoted to an account of Jesus' ministry, much of it harmonized from accounts also found in the canonical gospels. In some key respects, it conforms to the Islamic interpretation of Christian origins and contradicts the New Testament teachings of Christianity.

I am totally amazed that people can't see what is happening here. This is purely a distracting tactic by Hamas to draw the heat off their paymaster ( Iran) 's ally Syria. Actually it is part of a greater civil war between the Shia's ( Iran + Hizbollah ) and the Sunnis. As soon as the civil war in Syria stops then Iran will call Hamas and order a stop ( Their rockets cost you see ). If on the other hand the war in Syria goes badly for Iran then the next step will be to order Hisbolla to attack Israel. Then Israel will be fighting on two fronts. And will have to up the ante and drop the clinical precision that it has been using up til now in Gaza. Then all hell breaks loose. Syria asks Russia and China for help. The US and Saudi Arabia step into the gulf. And then all hell breaks loose. I am not trying to be a prophet or anything --- just looking at the lie of the land and the permutations.

  • jon.jones.90663894 - 2012-11-19 05:38

One other thing to note. In the last week more Muslims were murdered in Burma than Palestians killed in Gaza. Why is the Muslim world silent about this ?. Why does the Muslim world focus exclusively on the Palestinians ---who give their neighbours genuine cause to strike at them -- rather than on the Rohinga Muslims who are butchered and have never given anyone and reason to lift a finger against them ?. The only thing that the Rohinga have done is look a bit different to the majority and have a different religion. They have never bombed anyone. Maybe THAT is the Rohinga Muslims problem. They are suffering too 'peacefully' for the 'Ummah's liking. Perhaps if they blew themselves up in supermarkets killing babies and all in Rangoon they would get the support of the Muslim world.

  • daniel.salomon.752 - 2012-11-19 05:39

I love how people here are using religion to justify what is happening in Israel. I am Jewish I have been to Israel in '05 a few months after the last massive Interfada and bombings in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and yes it is very sad about what was happening then already and also now. But according to what I see and understand is that BOTH sides are wrong. It is wrong of Hamas to shoot hundreds of rockets into Israel and from Israel's side to retaliate. The reason why we hardly ever hear of wounded or fatalities on the side of the Israelis is because of the Iron Dome Air Defense System and the reason why there are so many fatalities on the Palestinian side is because Hamas site their launchers and mortars by hospitals, schools etc and use private civilian residences to cache and store weapons. The Palestinians and the Israelis want peace, contrary to what people in this forum and around the world think, its just the terms of peace that cant be ironed out. I don't want to explain it all in one go as it will take a while, but the most important reason is that they (the Palestinians) want Jerusalem as part of their West Bank territories and Israel won't give it to them due to the amount of blood shed to take it back from the Jordanians during the 6 Day War and that there are non Muslim places of Worship there like The West Wall and Holy Sepulcher. And to those who are using quotes from the from Holy Scriptures to and G-d's name to justify the killing of innocents shame on you!!
