Israeli embassy evacuated over package

Dublin - The Israeli embassy in Dublin was evacuated on Tuesday after a suspicious package was discovered in the building and police and the military were called to deal with it.

"The building has been evacuated - the building itself and the area around it have been sealed off," a spokesperson for the Irish Garda police said.

"It was reported just before 11:00 this morning.

"The Irish Defence Forces are there and are dealing with the package.

"The situation is ongoing."

The embassy is situated in the Ballsbridge area of southeast Dublin.
