Israeli navy boards Gaza-bound boats

2011-11-04 17:16

Jerusalem - The Israeli navy boarded on Friday two yachts carrying pro-Palestinian activists who had set sail for the Gaza Strip in a challenge to Israel's blockade of the Islamist-controlled territory.

The military said in a statement that the Canadian "Tahrir" and Irish "Saoirse" vessels would be taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

"The Israel Navy soldiers operated as planned, and took every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of the activists onboard the vessels as well as themselves," the statement said.

A military source said nobody was injured in the operation.

The middle east is still in conflict? Starting to sound like a broken record...

      Barry - 2011-11-04 18:21

Israel will always want conflict. This is perfect example of being a big bully.

      Dirk - 2011-11-04 18:53

Once again Israel bending over backwards "not to offend the activists and to ensure their safety" Israel is fighting a war against barbarian arab terrorists, supported by terrorist states such as Iran and most islamic states in the area. God bless Israel, and yes, as I always say,I mean the only living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

      Shoosh - 2011-11-04 19:08

@Barry, please explain why Israel would always want conflict?

      Barry - 2011-11-04 19:50

@Shoosh. The reason why Israel would always want conflict is because the government of that country wants it. That government is not democratic. AND the most Israelis know it. Suggest you speak with some Israelis who actually live in Israel.

      Barry - 2011-11-04 20:03

@Dirk...You carry on hiding behind religion, like Adam likes to do, to justify apartheid in Israel.

      Mthuthuzeli - 2011-11-05 07:32

@Shoosh Israel has always known that once peace is concluded with the Palestinians the civil war between the religious and secular elements would start. They need the common enemy to exist. Israel needs to be constantly in a state of war in order to maintain its foreign aid, $6 billion p.a. (Israel is a very poor country without a real GDP other than its foreign remittance from USA and direct US aid of cash and military equipment). A policy which is basically a massive money laundering exercise, recycling billions of US taxpayers dollars via Israel and then back to the US in political donations via AIPAC and the Defamation League. Israel is a fractured society that requires these outside threats and tensions to avoid falling apart.

  • Ben - 2011-11-04 18:39

Israel has a right to the sovereignty of its borders and the safety of its citizens. The IDF is not trying to deny aid from reaching the Palestinian people, but the sad reality is that terrorist organizations operating within the Palestinian territory try smuggle in weapons and use them to kill Israeli citizens. Israel is simply taking precautionary measures

      Barry - 2011-11-04 18:44

@Ben..Pull the other one. There are NO terrorists in this conflict. It is pure an simply a country ruled by apartheid, with freedom fighters on one side.

      Dirk - 2011-11-04 18:55

Barry- Go for counselling, unless you got a bump against the head

      Adam - 2011-11-04 19:31

since when do we as society smile at "freedom fighters" who openly kill innocent civilians? or since when do "freedom fighters" murder teenagers and small children, some while in their sleep? is that reall fighting for freedom? barry, you would be doing the palestinian cause a great justice by keeping your seriously stupid mouth shut

      africanwolf - 2011-11-04 19:31

Israel is a the only democracy in the barbaric middle east keep the apartheid stories to your granny you can not compare it to apartheid Syria Iran Egypt etc..

      Barry - 2011-11-04 19:54

@Dirk. I don't need counseling. You do. @Adam. You are total Bigot and a racist. AND you know it. @African Wolf. You don't have a clue

      Adam - 2011-11-04 23:09

how am i a biggot and racist? martin luther king supported israel, is he a biggot and racist - i have now given close on 50 reasons why every time you open your mouth you make your self seem dumber and dumber dude, isnt it clear by now you actually have exhausted every avenue of trying to undermine israel? no matter what corridor you take, you are proven wrong or informed on your incorrect data. just accept that israel has every right to exist and making the best of a bad situation with its less then co-operative arab neighbors. or you could continue to express your love to the peace hating, no respect for life, terrorist palestinians. if i have defined them incorrectly please let me know, id love to see an ounce of evidence contradicting my opinion. just by the way does your computer not show you what is going on in syria? or does your human rights activism end with demonizing israel - the country with best human rights record in the entire region educate your self beyond arab propaganda, its amazing what useful facts you'll find out side the quaran

      Mthuthuzeli - 2011-11-05 07:14

@Africanwolf Israel, the "only" democracy in the Middle East, didn't like the "only" other democracy in the Middle East when the Palestinians in Gaza voted overwhelmingly for Hamas. Now that is what you call an oxymoron.

      Barry - 2011-11-05 10:36

@Adam, All you have shown is how brain washed you actually are. You actually think palestinians want to kill all Israelis jews. It is just not true. In fact it is the other way around. Israel wants Palestine and its people removed from the face of the earth based on pure bigotry and racism using religion as an excuse to murder. Israel/Palestine does have a right to exisit. The only thing standing in the way is the current rule by apartheid. Yes I not what is going on in Syria, a genuine uprising of its people against an unpopular government. I sympathize with the Syrian people. The Quran is a book just like the bible. It seems you are turning to religion again to justify your opinions. In my opinion both books mean nothing. If they did not exisit people like you would not have religion as an excuse to justify opinions or condone the murdering Israeli forces.

After I saw a documentary of Biblical miracles happening during the 6 day war the Yom Kippur war, I have come to one conclusion: There is a God, and that God has chosen Israel to be His nation. Argue till you blue, but then explain the miracles that happened in those wars that saw an outnumbered, outgunned decisive battles. You gotta love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel).

      Dirk - 2011-11-04 19:40

Which documentary is the one you saw.Is it the one from JHM? Where can I get it?Contact details, if possible

      Cracker - 2011-11-04 19:45

@ Calvin How then does one explain the Holocaust? And the fact that the Jews (generally speaking) do not subscribe to Christianity? Politics aside, I am just very curious how you can come to your conclusion.

      Barry - 2011-11-04 20:07

I think this is the clip

      sarfaraaz.m.yunus - 2011-11-05 16:03

Have you ever read the Torah... ??? You will find all the manufactured evidence there... True the Jews were a chosen religion at one point in time, so where the Christians... eventually the true and last religion was formed and that is Islam. Do you really believe The Almighty would have created so many different religions for his amusement, the religions that replaced previous religions as chosen ones where due to the in subordination of the people of that time... so you can thank your forefathers for the situation you are in right now...

  • sarfaraaz.m.yunus - 2011-11-05 15:55

You know whats the saddest thing... The Jews know their days are numbered, so they can go ahead and oppress the so called MUSLIM TERRORISTS... funded by the Muslim countries... etc etc... so enjoy your little victories...

      Jaba - 2011-11-05 16:34

Individuals are entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts sarfaraaz. the Jews have been around thousands of years prior to the birth of Islam and will be thousands of years after. The only people oppressing on this earth are the Muslims themselves. There is hardly a conflict in the world that doesn't have Muslims involved. Afghanistan, Bosnia, Cote d’Ivoire, Cyprus, East Timor, Indonesia, Gaza, Kashmir, Kosovo, Kurdistan, Macedonia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Chechnya, Serbia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Algeria, Yemen, etc. bot you blame them Jews LOL All of these recent or ongoing conflicts have involved the "Religion of Peace", Islam. The world is a fickle place --Anti-Semitism hasn't gone away; it's merely morphed into hatred of Israel. Over the course of the past 2,000 years, the Jews have been expelled from virtually every European country. They were kicked out of the German states six times; out of parts of Italy five times; out of France four times. They were massacred by the Babylonians, the Romans, the Crusaders, the Poles, the Russians and, most recently, the Germans. The Jews have seen great civilisations come and go, great superpower's disappeared into the pages of History... The Jews are still here... and as per the way the Lord wants - they will be His children forever, and there is nothing you nor a billion or a hundred billion haters can do about it.

      Dmitri - 2011-11-05 17:00

Dream on sarfaraaz. Israel have never been defeated in any war. They were attacked on Yom Kippur by the Egyptians, Syrians what what not. It was a surprise attack and yet, Israel kicked their collective butt! G-D is with Israel, so there is zip you can do about it.
