Pristina - Hundreds of Muslims gathered in downtown Pristina on Friday to protest against the Kosovo government's decision to ban headscarves in schools.

The protesters gathered in front of an Education Ministry building demanding Education Minister Enver Hoxhaj's resignation. The government decided to ban scarves last month.

"You can cover the mind, but not the head," protesters chanted.

The majority of Kosovo's Albanian population are Muslims.
